What’s New:
We are expanding our Virtue Chart Packs to include an additional resource. Now both the English and Spanish virtue chart packs will include the newly created Path to Conversion Chart as well!

Newly Expanded Virtue Chart Packs include “path to conversion”

Just as a vine needs pruning, so do our hearts. We are called to daily prune away our tendencies to sin and strive to live as a disciple of Christ. In his book Abba Father, Fr. Bonaventure Perquin, O.P. offers this clear teaching:

“In following our Master, we mortify these sinful tendencies so that their opposition gradually disappears under the influence of the virtues. ‘If any man, has a mind to come my way, let him renounce self, and take up his cross, and follow me: (Mt. 16:24)’. True mortification aims chiefly at the practice of the virtues, because the only positive and lasting way of overcoming our sinful tendencies is to practice the virtues opposed to them, so that they become strongest and deepest.”

The Path to Conversion is an easy to read chart which lists the seven capital sins. It includes the manifestations of the sins and suggested virtues to cultivate in order to weed out sin and vice. This resource will be tremendously helpful to priests, spiritual directors, counselors, parents, teachers, or anyone seeking to be a saint. To put it simply—Happiness is Living a Virtuous Life.

Grow in Virtue:
As disciples of Christ, we seek to live and speak the truth even when it’s hard. Join us this week as we explore the virtue of honesty on our social media platforms. We invite you to learn about modeling honesty to others by being honest with others as well as yourself. We read in Proverbs 12:19, “Truthful lips endure for ever, but a lying tongue is but for a moment.”

Mind and Heart:
At Education in Virtue, we are here to help educate your mind and also to nurture your heart. We all have an innate desire for happiness which is achieved by practicing virtues to defeat the sinful habits. This week we recommend watching this video—Cultivating Virtue to Battle Sin featuring Father Boniface Endorf, O.P.
